Much has been made of the luxury movement currently underway in Manhattan and 432 Park avenue to be finished this year will be the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere at 1396 feet tall and 96 stories. It was topped out late last year and can be seen from not only other boroughs but from other states. It is reported that the penthouse is already spoken for at $95mm.
Designed by starchitect Rafael Vinoly, the least expensive apartment is $7mm and all apartments will have 12 ft ceilings and 10 by 10 windows. The highest floor apartments will have views looking down on the Empire State building, of Central Park, East and Hudson Rivers as well as the Atlantic ocean.
The amenities include a gym, private restaurant, outdoor terrace, 75 foot lap pool with spa, billiards room…The building was a colloboration of CIM Group and Macklowe Properties. Harry Macklowe bought the 495-room Drake Hotel for $440mm, and proceeded to tear it down to build this supertall.
Current listings on Streeteasy range for just under $30mm to just over $80mm. By later this year, several other buildings will be at a similar height to this building which is on Park avenue between 56-57 street.
